**Note to self: volunteering to take 90 children into the hall for games while others set up party food in the classrooms… not a good idea. Let’s not do that again.**

Assessments were over and finished with at the end of last week thankfully. We had panto on Friday (I didn’t lose a child, no-one was sick or other such mess and we all got back to school safe and sound.. and EARLY!), Santa day and craft day yesterday, the remnants of craft day and Christmas party today… I am literally on the floor, so so ready for the break!

Craft day went well, if a little chaotic, but the decorations the children have made are actually really lovely - I will try to remember to take a photograph and post it. I am very proud of them, and instead of doing the sorting out work I needed to do after the children had gone home this evening I spent an hour and a half painting and glittering my own salt dough tree ornaments to give to friends and family as an extra Christmas present! I was in my element and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was very relaxing and just what I needed at this point in the term!

I have got two more days to get through - one more day of glitter and glue everywhere, and then then more DVDs and the end of term Mass on the last day. I am so close to a break now and I just can’t wait! It’s not even that I want to get rid of the children or that I’m not having fun at the moment… I’m actually really enjoying work right now. Christmas is a lovely time of year to be a teacher and we’re doing lots of really fun activities, I am just totally shattered!
